Xiamen Flexible Straight Engineering
The Fujian Xiamen Flexible DC Project was approved in December 2013 and construction began on July 21, 2014. The project has a rated voltage of ± 320 kV, a rated current of 1600 A, and a transmission capacity of 1 million kilowatts. Two new ± 320 kV converter stations will be built outside the island, including the Puyuan converter station (transmitter) and the Ludao converter station (receiver), as well as the ± 320 kV Pengcuo Lake flexible DC line project. The total length of the DC line is 10.7 kilometers, all of which are land cables, using 1800 square millimeters of large cross-section insulated DC cables, connected to the two converter stations through the Xiamen Xiang'an underwater tunnel.
The Xiamen Flexible DC Project is a highly innovative and leading system engineering. This project is based on the application of the ± 200 kV flexible DC project in Zhoushan, Zhejiang. It achieves a leap from the DC voltage level of ± 200 kV to the world's first ± 320 kV, and optimizes the connection from pseudo bipolar to true bipolar. It has become the world's highest voltage level and largest transmission capacity flexible DC project.
The completion and operation of the Xiamen Flexible Direct Transmission Project marks that China has fully mastered the key technologies such as the design, equipment manufacturing, engineering construction commissioning, and operation of high-voltage and large capacity flexible DC transmission projects, has the ability to complete the project, and has achieved the creation and leadership of China. It is of great significance to further improve China's DC transmission technology level and power equipment manufacturing level, lays a solid foundation for opening up the international flexible DC project market, provides replicable and promotable experience for the construction of higher and larger transmission capacity flexible DC transmission projects, and also provides a pioneering practice for the construction of the global energy Internet. Zhoushan Multi end Flexible Straight Project
The Zhejiang Zhoushan ± 200 kV Five Terminal Flexible DC Transmission Technology Demonstration Project is currently the world's highest voltage level, most terminals, and largest single terminal capacity multi terminal flexible DC transmission project. The project was officially put into operation on July 4, 2014. The project will construct 5 converter stations in Dinghai, Daishan, Qushan, Sijiao, and Yangshan, with a total capacity of 1 million kilowatts and a maximum converter station capacity of 400000 kilowatts; Newly built ± 200 kV DC transmission lines with a total length of 280.8 kilometers (positive and negative poles), including 258 kilometers of submarine cables and 22.8 kilometers of land cables. Since the project was put into operation, the cumulative transmitted electricity has reached nearly 430 million kilowatt hours, with a maximum transmitted active power of 106000 kilowatts and reactive power of 72000 kilowatts, and a cumulative consumption of 161.868 million kilowatt hours of wind power.
The completion of the Zhoushan Five Terminal Flexible DC Project has improved the overall technological content of China's power grid, enhanced the international influence and competitiveness of China's DC transmission industry, greatly enhanced the grid structure of Zhoushan Power Grid, effectively promoted the consumption of marine new energy such as offshore wind power, achieved flexible conversion and mutual support of electricity between islands in the northern part of Zhoushan, and provided strong energy support for the development of the first national level marine new area - Zhoushan Islands New Area. At the same time, this project also plays a good demonstration role in the large-scale promotion of flexible DC and ocean transmission technologies in China. The Nanjing Unified Power Flow Controller Demonstration Project (hereinafter referred to as the Nanjing UPFC Project) is the first UPFC project in China and the world's first UPFC project based on modular multilevel converter (MMC) technology. This project marks China as the third country in the world, after the United States and South Korea, to fully master this key technology.
The domestically produced UPFC device for engineering applications adopts the world's most advanced modular multilevel converter (MMC) technology (similar devices in the United States and South Korea have not yet adopted it), which has outstanding advantages such as optimizing control of multi loop power over a large range, low investment costs and operating losses, and high operating efficiency. Its technical performance ranks at the forefront of the world. By installing this device, the demonstration project can achieve precise control of power transmission in the western core area of Nanjing city. Without renovating the power grid, the power supply capacity of the western ring network in Nanjing can be increased by 30% (500000 to 600000 kilowatts), and the annual power supply can be increased by 250 million kilowatt hours. This is equivalent to investing in the construction of a new 220 kV transmission channel in the urban core area, saving 359 acres of land, and providing an effective example for the development potential of urban power grids in developed eastern regions of China under existing conditions. With the large-scale promotion and application of this technology, it will provide new ideas and choices for the development of urban power grids in China. 4 Award winning achievements
